Dubbed Pinky and Goldy for now. Playing in a clean tank with tummies stuffed full of earthworm. The water is a bit cloudy from cleaning as I've stirred up all the beneficial bacteria. I do apologise for the blurry pics. My camera isn't the greatest in the world. :p
The babies are about 2 months old and measure approx. 3 inches. Goldy is a bit of a cam hog lol, whilst PInky prefers to chillax without prying eyes. I will try to get some better quality pics in a little while. Give the tank time to settle and the cam could do with a good charge. :D

They are BEAUTIFUL looking axies! I will suggest that there is a ton of sand in there. You should keep it around 1-2 inches. Sand that thick will become toxic for sure. I see bubbles in the sand so when removing the excess sand be sure to take the axies out first so you don't poison them:) but other then that looks good!

So you can put them together at 3 inches? I have a couple that are still separate, can I put them together? 2 are 3 inches, 1 is more than 2 inches

There lovely, yep another proud Mommy LOL :)

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
