Just thought I'd share some photos of bubbles & dot playing, they were best friends ever since they were about 1/2 an inch big! :) I think its adorable They're now about.. 8 inches, And still best friends! :3

Bubbles Is my Leucistic, And Dot is my Wild Type, Theres a few pictures of them playing around, Sorry the tank is so bare, I just took everything out to clean plants and such.

Unfortunatly, They can't be best friends anymore :(

Dot (Wild type) Passed away today. Bubbles is just hanging on by a thread. I left for a few days and left my mom in charge. she forgot about them. and my guess is it was an ammonia spike.

I'm going to check the perimeters right now. I put bubbles in clean de-chlorinated water and put her in the fridge.

One good sign of bubbles is that I offered her a worm and a half, and she ate it no problems. so i'm happy about that.

But yeah. wish me the best of luck <3

-R.I.P Dot <3

That's awful. I hope she pulls through.

Very sorry to hear about Dot : ( I hope Bubbles is doing OK

Bubbles seems pretty lost without Dot in the tank playing hide & seek with her.. But She's Healthy.. and eating well and besides being a bit lonely untill she's bigger, she'll be just fine. :)

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
