I found Buttercup's old hiding cave, I purchased this when I first got her.
I placed the cave into her tank, but there was a problem.....she couldn't fit through the cave entry.
She tried and tried to squeeze in but no luck.
I took it out but I felt bad, she really loves her cave :(

So I put it back in...but upside down lol

haha so true ^__^ i had the same sort of problem recently with one of my axies trying to fit into her old castle...just her head fit now ;P but so cute to watch her trying...

i was wondering if you have a Dremel or similar rotary tool or grinding wheel to enlarge the opening so you can still use the hide.

Have seen a few pictures and videos of Buttercup in my wanderings around caudata this evening. She's absolutely gorgeous and has the perfect name! Particularly love how round her tummy looks in this picture, I'm a sucker for tubby lotls! :)

Silly creatures. Mine always crawl into a cave side by side. Doesn't fit very well.

Thanks for the reply's :)
Ive had to put her on a diet, 1 large worm and 3 pellets a day.
I may have to remove her floating plants as she is eating them to (stalk and all).

She eats everything!!

Even try's to eat the cat :/

The cat will come to have a look at the tank, and Buttercup will come flying at her and start snapping!

Is this normal behavior??

I think it is. Axies like to snap at everything that moves. It's like they're always hungry :D

A cat munching axolotl! I had the biggest smile on my face while reading this thread so had to comment  I've just rehomed another one and she's the same - so crazy and always looking for food! She was chasing my algae magnet yesterday :S nutcase!

When I leave for work in the morning I always do my rounds and say goodbye to all my animals.
I said goodbye to Lillyrose but she was asleep in her tunnel.
I walked up to Buttercup's tank and before I said goodbye she bounced out of her cave and gave me a smile :)

Was taking photos of my axolotls, and as usual Lillyrose was being a poser for the camera.

Then it was Buttercups's turn, I walked up to the tank and she was still sleeping in her cave.
I went to take a photo but she spotted me and thought 'FOOD!!' she came racing towards the camera and smacked into the glass as I took the picture.

I looked at the preview picture and Killed myself laughing!!

Love it how her face is flat on one side lol
