Love it!!

A question about the fake grass stuff you've got in the tank... How do you find it for cleaning up poop from? I've got bare bottom & I don't like it - neither do the axies - trying to figure out an alternative :)

well ,,,,,, i simply just lift it out and take it into the bathroom and shower it down for a couple of mins and bobs your uncle its brand new again :) my axies love it.

Dat gills

I am surprised cos both of parents got really short gills, about one centimetre long. They must not be a genetic thing or parents were neglected by previous owner, and I bet on second one. When he was younger they where about third of his body!

almost bday!

Dirty faced Chao posing for me last night. *swoon*

Nobody else would sit still long enough to get their picture taken.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
