My axies are getting bigger and cuter everyday, but my wild type especially is starting to get some cute gills :)

Where'd all the cute lotls go?

Here's Leucy. Thanks to Margie for the happy healthy axolotl.

Gojira my runt wild type. He's as old as my Golden, Electro, and he's about half his size. Very gorgeous wild type though, if I do say so myself.

Love your axies Jonjey. You have the leucy and the wild type I am dying to get. They are both absolutely gorgeous. (But there's something so lovable about runts, isn't there?)

Thanks for the advice, but it's play sand that's been sifted. The grains a 1mm or less. -_- Far from gravel.

Thought that I might as well post these on here, too bad the gold and green that is mixed with the black doesn't show up on an iPhone camera with out a flash. :p

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
