Here's some photos from a trip to Czech Republic from where we also traveled to Germany for one day.
First are photos from the German trip (near Bayreuth in Bavaria). As you can see, these newts have very fancy living quarters. I only discovered them by chance - there were frog tadpoles in the pond and but also some newt-larva-shaped creatures, soon after I also found some newts. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to get closer to them. The last couple of pictures show that they are Lissotriton, my guess is vulgaris (correct me if I'm wrong please).
