Zion (A Golden from Margie!)

I"ve found black backgrounds and enticing with food helps color really go a long way with the golds :3 I can't wait to see more pictures!

I'm thinking about getting a golden as my last axie. I have room for one more in my 55 gallon, I have four now. I have albinos and leucistics at the moment. The hard part is deciding what type of golden I would like. They have such a variety to them. Some are bright yellow with lighter spots, while others are very pale with specks. They are all so beautiful in their own way.

Get from Margie and no matter what kind it's going to be stunning XD It's hard to say exactly what theyre going to look like unless you get them as adults because I've noticed they sometimes like to change a bit over time. Either way golds are the way to go!

Just measured little Zion - he's around 4 1/2 inches. I got him when he was exactly 3 inches, my baby is growing!

ah gosh you guys I caught him mid gill-flick and he looks so weird XD

Bit of an update on his growth!

Look how big he (or she, still don't know!) is getting! And his color - it's so light, he's just lovely. I can't handle it, my baby is just growing up to be so beautiful. <3

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
