I just got two darling babies from Margie yesterday. A leucistic and gold. Both have such beautiful gills and ate like little piggies. Today I got a copper as well but I have to wait til camera battery is charged before I can get a picture.
They arent on sand, they are actually all in separate critter keepers that I sank into the tank with the lids on to keep the separate so they wouldnt nip each other or eat the sand. That and it helps me monitor how much food they are eating and easier to clean up the poops.

They are so cute!!! I am so excited to get mine from her. Can't wait!!

So beautiful! I'll have to post a pic at some point of the black mel I got from Margie. He's got the same gills, and they are super wide and voluptuous!

Omgshh no stop! I can't look anymore. The cuteness is killing me! Makes me want to scoop them up and kiss them if it was possible. lol

Managed to get a few more pictures that werent total blurs, plus I got one of my teeny tiny little copper cutie. He's so small getting any good pictures is a fight.

They are growing so fast. Little pink is looking huge compared to the rest of them. My gold is catching up though and getting more sparkle to its body. These two I got from Margie are such beauties.

Then there is tiny copper slowly getting some size. Im starting to see more color in it. Im excited to see what shades of color little copper will get. I got him later than the two from Margie so his tiny size compared to them still blows me away xD

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
