It looks like a slightly peculiar looking Tylototriton verrucosus :errr:

He he, you're spot on, he got his gills bitten off on one side when hen he was small and they never grew back. He reminded me of a Pachytriton.

First thing i thought was Pachytriton as well, second thought was T. verrucosus.

Here he is, he's a lot bigger now but still hasn't morphed yet.

I thought it was a Tylototriton due to your kept species list, but I over thought it and thought it was something new

It's a Tylototriton for sure. When I raised Tyototriton verrucosus and shanjing they would absorb 3 of their gills and leave the other 3 for later on. I'd say it's a T. verrucosus.

He reminds me of someone with a modern cut where you shave one side of your head and have long hair growing out of the other.

Beside the strange look of this individual, There are very good details of the lateral line running along its belly and turning around its limbs.

Yes, It's even still visible on some of my adults as tiny white dots along their sides.
