Any idea what these could be? My axolotl seems happy, healthy and fine, but I noticed these came up a few weeks ago. He is almost 2 years old. He is in a tank alone and all tank perimeters are checking out fine. Is it something to worry about? I’ve seen this on pics of other axolotls.
. Anyways, axolotls, especially lighter axolotls, tend to develop brown spots as they age, and most tend to be around the mouth. As long as the bumps don’t seem textured (poking out, like a mole) and your axoltol seems to be doing fine, I wouldn’t be worried. If they are poking out, it’s possible that it’s fungus. But it is very uncommon for fungus to grow around the mouth of the axolotl. He looks wonderful to me
