Set up a dirt 30g for firebellies

Hi ive recently been experimenting with dirt tanks in my aquariums. Ive created this thirty gallon terrarium using clayballs for the land mass; to create the steep hills, and I put a layer of already soaked soil (out of a broken down aquarium) on the top to weigh down the clayballs, and to give...

Hello I have been determined to create a biofilter in my cynops orientalis tank. I began by taking basic pond weed (not duckweed) from a pond. This worked well and began to grow but then failed. I have now bought the greener equivalent from the pet shop (It is several long shoots with short...

    Fire bellied newts + waxworms

I just fed my fire bellied newts a wax worm each and they loved them. So much so, one of them after eating his tried to steal the other newts worm and they got into a kind of alligator death roll which i had to break up with my finger. I was wondering how often i can give them these worms?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
