    Live/Bioactive substrate?

Is this something I could do for my Tiger Salamander? I currently use something I need to add water to that I buy at Petco that seems to work well, but I like the idea of his/her waste being absorbed by the system rather than just accumulating over time. Is there anything I should read up on...

Should I regularly unearth my Tiger Sal?

So in the past two and a half months I have seen him come to he surface once, and I fed him then but haven’t seen any trace of him being on the surface of his substrate. It is Winter in New England but I keep my apartment at 66f min. I’m always scared of hurting him as I have dug him up before...

Sort-of new, just got a larval tiger salamaner

I have had it for 3-4 weeks, I just switched over to live food- earthworms and superworms- and am very curious as to when it will decide to transform. I have a floating platform ready, and am doing some work to spruce up its current tank like adding sand, as it has been bare-bottom as a...

Feeding frequency questions for larval tiger salamander

So, I recently got a larval tiger salamander, thinking it was an axolotl. I know for sure it is not, and am prepared for that. Question: Got a spare 10g, trying to come up with ideas

So, I have a 10g lying around with nothing to do. I have had fish in it before, but for fish right now I'm just going to stick to my 5.5g with either a Betta or shrimp. As for the 10g, what I really want to do is some sort of half-and-half paludarium. I've been doing research on what to keep in...

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
