2 axolotl in 10 gallon?

I honestly would say 10 gallons for one axolotl, but since they can get pretty large and it can become cramped, I think they should have something a bit bigger for two. Plus, any decor that you have will take up space too. I have two in a 20 long and they seem to be perfectly fine in that..plus the longer tank is great since they spend most of their time "walking" on the bottom. :)

is it ok if i put them in 10 gal when they are young(about 5 inch)?as they grow up i will upgrade to 3 feet tank..

Honestly, two smaller sized axolotls can live in a ten just fine. Most axolotls don't get much larger than 9 inches. The only problem will be with the owner keeping up on quality, which makes it much safer to just go with a larger tank, plus it has the added benefits of more room for the axolotls. For two young ones it may be more advantageous for you to raise them in tubs until they're big enough if you intend to just get a larger tank anyway. No need to spend more money on things that you won't need.

ok..thanks for the information by the you :)

about how long would it take for the axies to get to the size where they would need at least a 20gallon long? I was curious about this as well--My axolotl is about 3.5 inches right now--what do I have? Months? Years?
I currently don't have the space for a 20gallonL because I have 2 10's next to each other, but it's a betta in the other one, so if I won't have to worry about upgrading for 2 axolotls for a few years, then I may want to snag another one :p

A single axolotl will be fine in a ten. They usually reach full size by the time they're about a year, but expect that yours may reach 7-8 inches 6 months from now.

I've had to do it in the past to cope with Australian summers (before I got a chiller), and yes, it can be done. But it WILL make you paranoid, and you need to be CERTAIN that there are plenty of hides, VERY good filtration (I had a box filter for manual filtration and a sponge for biological), and that the axies you are putting into that situation get along VERY well with each other.
Freddie, George and Phree, who I had in a small setup so the heat sink my dad made for me could work, were very close, happy to cuddle with each other and not at all snappy. They also have all come in around the 15-20cm mark, so are not overly large. By contrast, unless I was in a serious situation, there is no way I would put Molly (wild type and breeding extraordinare) into a close-quarters situation- she tends to want to mouth everything, chomps first and asks questions later, and can be quite moody at times.

From my own experience, the small tank was a good learning experience. However, I then went up to a 4ft tank, and now I'm at a 6ft. If you can find the space, save up and go straight for the largest tank you can get away with- it will save you a LOAD of time, money and worry in the long run :)
