5.5 gallon tank

I have a fully cycled 5.5 gallon tank and before you go on about how 5.5 gallons is too small. In my area there is only adult axolotls in my area so I have to wait for a couple days until I add it to a 20 gallon long. Will an adult axolotl be able to survive in it for a couple days?

Well, yes, they will survive, but why not just wait with buying the axolotl until the 20 gallon tank is ready?

5.5 gallons will be uncomfortable and stressful to them - nothing dangerous for a few days, but not really the way you'd want to start with a new pet.
