1.what (if anything) is wrong with lino? he had a full head of gills when i got him which have very slowly disappeared (so slowly that until i saw a photo of him as he was when i first got him i thought he had always had so few gills)
here he is when i got him:

(i cant find the camera to get a pic of him now but will post a pic asap)

he now has lost all gill feathers on his left side and most of those on his right he only has one branch left with a decent amount of gills on it

i've put him in the fridge he's been in there for 4 days now and as yet shows no signs of improvement

apart from this he seems fine (no signs of stress etc)
any suggestions would be good????

2.I recently put a substrate mat of riccia into one of my tanks and small amounts began to break away and rise to the surface I saw Jaimenacho eat a piece as it floated past him and now Juan is sat at the top of the tank snapping at riccia at the first sign of movement, he's really developing a taste for it, is it safe for him to eat it?

Lino's been in the fridge since christmas day now and still is'nt improving. He's starting to thin out a little although it's nothing serious yet. I think it may be time to give up on this idea and move him back into his tank??

Any ideas??

What are the stones covered with could be toxic. Oxygen levels could be high in the water causing his gill to shrink thats not a bad thing. When they get could for a long time they don't eat as much or stop eating try letting him worm up for a bit before you try and feed him.

the stones haven't been in that tank for a couple of months(I now have black sand) I think I'll put him back in his tank tomorrow it's probably the high oxygen thing

Thanks
