I've had an African Dwarf Frog for about six years now, and have noticed that from time to time he...sings. That's the only way I can describe it. It sounds much like high pitched humming sound and is VERY loud sometimes. I was wondering why he does this. Also, does anybody know how old these little buggers can get? Thanks! C:

Well singing is usually for mating and I've heard they also can sing for unknown reasons. As for age, depending on the frog 5-10 years is what I have heard.

Toyrobotgirl is right. The males sing when it is time to spawn. I would love to hear this, but I am pretty sure mine is a female and she's over 5 years old. They can live for quite a number of years.
Take care,
Mary.

Thanks! He sounds a lot like a creaky door or a mosquito, nothing special. xD
