Hi Everyone!

We got our baby Axolotl Taco on Saturday, I'm a total noob at this so just try and bare with me haha. He's a tiny little thing only about 1 inch right now and has only front legs at the moment. When we first got him home and settled in we fed him some thawed bloodworms and he ate 2 or 3 of them right away but since then I haven't seen him eat again. We take out anything he doesn't eat after a little bit. I was under the impression that babies his size are supposed to eat a few times a day so i'm getting a bit worried. Any tips or tricks to get the little guy to eat? are there better food options for his size? or maybe i'm just being a worry wart :p thanks so much!

You can try frozen brine shrimp, usually available at PetSmart or Petco.

Thank you Crystal, I will definitely try that! Also, do you have any Melanoid babies left?

I would usually try to feed babies very small daphnia. Live food seems to induce a better feeding response than frozen foods.

Yes ma'am I do. Only a few though. :)

to tell you the truth, i'd be very scared to feed him if he was really small. i have had an experience with my little Harry, he was just some months old and I needed to feed him somehow. I went to our vet and he suggested we order pretty qualitative baby food or special formulas for human children. Thanks God I discovered anyorganics.com where the prices are pretty affordable, which was kinda beneficial for us as my wife was finishing to breastfeed our child. Moreover, we were actually taken aback that prices online were much lower than those found in our local shops.
