I've been looking for something for my mandarin salamander that's secure, sturdy and has enough ventilation for the wee critter. I found this on Ebay, is it any good?

I can't remember the measurements, but if it's the right sort of thing I'll double check and post them on.

If the length and width are large enough, you could certainly make a decent habitat there. But it has a lot of space in height that would be wasted space, since mandarins don't climb.

For a similar price, you may be able to get a 20-long tank with a hinged screen lid. Stick some rocks across the back with silicone, and voila.

I don't recognize that enclosure as a regular manufactured product from anyone - and dually noted is that the picture you've shown is completely animated. As in it's not a real picture with little things photoshopped in to it.... it's just completely fake. If there are no actual photos of the product, don't buy it.

As Jenn said, you could easily buy a 20 gal long tank, and make a much nicer enclosure - just use a screen top (well secured screen top).

That's the part I'm worried about! The well secured screen top. Oh well, if it's not right I'll keep looking. He's not unhappy in what he's in anywhoo.

Fair point about the picture being animated, Kyle. I hadn't thought about that aspect.
