Air Stone?

Just curious as to what everyone thinks about this topic. I'm just wondering if its necessary to place an airstone, or corner filter running off of an air pump to provide addition O2 in the water. Maybe it's not necessary, but will it be beneficial to the axolotls?

I guess it really depends on how much O2 you already have in the water. I run an overhang filter and two air pump powered undergravel grids, so I don't use an airstone. But if someone was running say, just an internal filter with no air input, I'd run an airstone on the other side of the tank, both for water movement and airation.

When considering airstones, the bubbles do not provide much in the way of gaseous exchange. It is the turnover of the tankwater by circulation that causes the exchange.
