One of my alpine newt (Mesotriton alpestris) boys is floating and has a bump on his side. What is the cause of this? My ammonia is 0, nitrites 0, and nitrates are 10. I am doing a 25% water change with pure RO water just to be safe though.

Could be an air pocket. It doesn't look like typical bloat, because the swelling is local. Keep an eye on this animal. It could be gas formation. The causes for this can be harmless, but not always. There are probably people who can tell you more.
