Ammonia-Removing Zeolite and regrowth question

I have just purchased a bottle of Pro-Z Labratory-Quality Ammonia-Removing Zeolite Crystals, to be precise :p

Has anyone used these before? The girl at the shop suggested I put some in a stocking and hang it in the tank. I wasn't sure how much to put in, so ended up filling the toes of a stocking with a small handful of crystals.

Do you think it's possible to use too much? Could this be harmful to axies in any way?

The second question is: How long does it take for a nibbled gill to grow back? It was injured just over 2 weeks ago and there's been little noticable regrowth.

There's nothing to worry about the gill will grow back when it's ready. I once had a very large female who got attacked and she had no gill for about 2 years, then in a period of about 3 weeks it just grew back! AMAZING!!! This doesn't usually happen though!

sorry, forgot the other bit......

Go back and ask the lady who suggested this stuff to you (cause ive never used it) and ask her exactly how much to use, and then you need to test the ph and stuff probably every day to start off with to make sure it's not affecting the water badly

I have use the said product before, and I do not recommed it long-term (more than one month long). I suggest you test the water.

no worries, katya.

thanks nesaraj, i will do that
