I'd love to raise some Andrias japonicus from eggs to respectably-sized larvae as part of some captive breeding program, but probably won't ever get the chance as it'd be illegal here

Those preserved eggs aren't mine, by the way. They belong to researcher.
Oh so they are preserved not acutally alive? I read larvae are almost an inch when they hatch. The eggs look ten times the size of most newt eggs I've seen.
