Anorexic? Martini hasn't eaten for ages.

geez sorry, casey forgot about the heat!!!!

I've just been reading the axolotl website about metamorphosing axolotls.

Will a rock be enough land for her. The only bit that's out of the water is about the size of her. So if she gets up there, she'll be out of water but won't be able to walk around.

On the website it looks like metamorphosed axololts need mostly dry land, with just a small water bowl (if any water at all).

How long does it usually take for them to metamorphose? I just need to know when I should transfer her to somewhere where there is more land.

Maybe I'll start a new thread and hopefully someone with a morphed axolotl will see it.

Kapo: don't worry, if you were sitting in my house right now, though, you would not find it easy to forget about the heat.

as long as she can get out to breath i assume she will be ok. IF she does end up morphing and you see her out then you can just re-do the whole tank to mostly land if thats what they like (i know very little about morphed axies). maybe pm ed, he would know if it is or not

I pmd John Clare. Maybe I should pm ed too.

My problem is that Stella is doing great as a normal axolotl. So if Martini does morph I'm going to have to get another set-up.

I'll be researching a way to do it much cheaper this time, though.

I'm kind of excited now, I just hope she makes it through the process and isn't actually dying.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Martini is very sick, and not metamorphosing. Metamorphosing axolotls do not look like this. Someone else mentioned kidney failure as a possibility. Quite frankly I do not know what the cause is - the usual suspects list is about the best I can say. I also think she's too far gone to save. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
