Hi all.

I recently got a breeding pair of tigers. They came in a 7 gallon all-dirt enclosure and I built them a rather shoddy paludarium to try to make them happy. It was a quick fix so it's not very well crafted.

I have another pair of axolotls in a 40 gallon breeder and I know axolotls and tigers are both pretty much exclusive tank inhabitants - but they're about the same size and I don't think they can eat each other.

Has anyone had success in building a paludarium that can house both species? I'm not even going to attempt it unless I get a little encouragement. Hopefully there are some good stories out there!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
