arboreal nature of aneides vagrans

Very interesting indeed. I wonder just how many actually spend their lives in trees and how this will affect future population studies.

ive seen the polypodium scouleri fern mats that they live in... they are rather large. i was just in the redwoods a few weeks ago and i looked for vagrans, however i believe it was too cold. i am going to go back this spring and check the same fern mat to see if anybody is home. i am going to check at night with a flashlight for individuals exposed. i have become very fond of finding animals with a flashlight while they are active. it prevents any need for disturbing habitat and you get to see them being active.
