Are Axolotls legal in British Columbia?

Heyy! I’ve seen some pretty conflicting info on this. I really adore Axolotls and was thinking about getting two but I live in BC and was wondering if they are actually legal here?

Exotic animals like axolotls and tree frogs are designated as wildlife under the B.C. Wildlife Act. Ownership of these animals is restricted, meaning they cannot be kept, sold, bred, trafficked or transported without a permit.
