I've got 2 /4 red-spotted newts that are getting very huge. They are always moving, but eating regularly. They are very wide, especially in front of their back legs. They are not clearly sexed. Is it the breeding season for this to happen?

Can you get pictures of them and we can try and sex them for you?

Chances are they are gravid with eggs.

Sorry, I cannot get pictures at this time (looking for a decent camera though). One, which has recently transformed to her adult state, is a female. The other one, I am not entirely sure.

Hello. Can you help me with my pregnant newt and when to tell if they're about the lay eggs?
