My axies are generally pretty chill, sometimes swimming around in the tank BUT after research I realised I needed to cycle.
They're now in a container but I don't think they're at all happy, infact I think they're stressed. They're flicking their gills a lot and moving around sort of pushing their face into the container, maybe it's too small? I dont know but I'd love any tips from someone more experienced!

How much longer until the tank is fully cycled? They could just be stressed from the new environment

I would separate them so you don't have any nipping in such close quarters. I'd also consider putting them in larger containers myself. Keep up with your water changes, and water quality.

See I'm not sure, I'm a first time owner and I didn't even know about cycling. I'm waiting for my test kit to arrive I'm hoping it will come Monday! I was thinking that :/

Ok thank you, I don't think I have larger containers though :/ I will!

Separating in the best option, if they were both in separate containers of that size then they would at least have a little more room. When they swim into the sides of the container it is not a sign of stress, its just the fact that their space is limited, my juveniles have always done this when raising in containers. Flicking of gills generally varies time to time, I would not be too concerned with this a the moment.

Make sure you change the water every day or two with dechlorinated water.
