I got a new tank mate for my current axolol.

When I seen him he looked sad on full led tank with gravel 😑

Anyway I got him he has no foofs since I got him 2 weeks ago he had growing a little bit of foofs but not like my other axie who is a white albino

How can I get his foofs to grow back ?
Picture of him oic of my other axie ❤️

His gill stalks will take time to regenerate. sometimes it takes months, if they'll come back at all. Depending on his age and the length of time they were damaged can both be factors in how quickly they regenerate. Maintaining good water quality and good diet will help.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
