Hi everybody
I'm new at this so please bare with me.
Can anybody tell me if it's safe to keep an axolotl in the same tank as a spanish ribbed newt? Any expert advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

No, you shouldn't mix axolotls with anything other than appropriate feeder fish.

It´s not something anybody here would recommend doing. It involves risks which are completely unnecessary and are much better off avoided entirely.

Big disaster! Both species are very aggressive eaters. Spanish Ribbed Newts can protrude their ribs in defense especially when feeling predated on. Keeping a Spanish Ribbed Newt with a Axolotl will likely mean one or the other will bite. It'll be disappointing to see an Axolotl with puncture wounds in its mouth.

I notice in your other post that you bought an axolotl that turned out to be a newt. A bit disappointing , I guess.
Are you going to rehome it, or set up another tank for an axolotl as well, or just stick with the newt? I vote for another tank and get an axy..... :D
