Somehow in her haste to eat a particularly juicy worm Chrysta managed to snort a bit of something either up into or down out of her nostril  I was worried for a couple of minutes but she managed to dislodge it on her own. It didn't bother her at all but man it looked funny. I'm still not sure what it was. Could have been a bit of rotting plant but when I zoom right in on the photo it looks more like half digested/chewed worm  Who knows..... enjoy a giggle on Chrysta anyway.

I would keep a close eye on this. When I first looked at the picture it looked to me to be an anchor worm. :( . I am hoping I am wrong .

It's not an anchor worm
This is an anchor worm They have a VERY distinct tail with the 2 little sections that look sort of like a propeller. Very sleek in design and very grey.

Poor little thing :(

finally...
Here's a MUCH bigger close up of Chrystas nose. Click on it to see full size or open in a new tab.
This is a bit of half chewed/rotting something gross in her nostril that wasn't there when she went for the worm that was after she grabbed it and that she dislodged within a few minutes. I was watching her, I quite like watching them stalk their worms
Yes it is anchorworm esk in it's appearance at a glance but I assure you it is not. There is absolutely no way an anchorworm could have gotten into that tank. Nothing has been added to it aside from tap water and earthworms from my wormfarm in the past 4 months and with planeria in hubbys shrimp tank I am extremely careful about what equipment is used where to avoid contamination of any sort.

I normally am very "blah in the morning and don't laugh at funny things when I first wake up, but this definitely made me giggle. It looks like a bloodworm, almost. But it's super cute, nonetheless. Chrysta looks amazing, too, very pretty.

This happened to my Stanford, poor critter. He just got a bit too eager during feeding  made me laugh
