Hi! My sons axolotl laid eggs 2 days ago. We separated the eggs yesterday and I have a brine shrimp hatchery on the way (thanks Amazon) and we have a local pet store where I can get live black worms once they are big enough to eat them.

This is our first rodeo and I’m thinking about culling some because we’ve never done this before and we have way too many eggs for it being our 1st time! Is anyone in search of eggs??

Also, where is a good place to try and sell the babies? Will fish stores usually by them? I really don’t have the space to try and sell the one by one online.

I posted a pic of the parents and the eggs - no clue how many but it’s A LOT!!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
