Hi,

Axol, my golden albino laid eggs on the 24th November. I'm hoping to sell those developing well. Can you suggest an absolue cut-off for mailing and are they allowed outside UK? My spanish students are keen to have some.

As soon as you are sure that ANY of them are developing, I would recommend getting them into the mail immediately. Waiting longer usually means they have developed too far to ship them.

They are a CITES species, so shipping between countries is usually restricted (requires extra paperwork). But I don't know how that applies within the EU.

Shipping outside of the UK requires a lot of paperwork - I wouldn't bother personally. Look up the details on Welcome to CITES

Ship ASAP, overnight, and pack to prevent too much sloshing about.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
