I returned home from work today and was about to head to bed when I️ noticed the filter in my acokotls tank had stopped working. I also saw slime all over the tank and decor. I️ immediately did about a 75% water change and tried to remove as much of the smile as possible. I don’t know what happened to the filter, but it was filled with slime. Without another option, I took the filter from my 10 gallon fish tank and put it in my axolotl’s 10 gallon tank. The flow is much too strong for him, but it is clearing the water of the slime. I’ll be getting a new filter tomorrow. Does anyone know what this slime could be? Will my axolotl be okay? He looks slightly stressed, but has started nibbling at his bloodworms again. It is the middle of the night here, so I️m not sure what else I can do at the moment. What should I do?
(Temp is currently 67 degrees Fahrenheit, water is changed 40% weekly, I have a fan and frequently put bagged ice in the tank, he eats regularly and seems active)
