All stones are stuck with silicone to the bottom

If the axolotl was well fed then I wouldn't be concerned if the axolotl didn't eat within a couple of months. The multiple drug treatments are probably stressing the animal to the point it won't eat.

in a different ambystomid (A. opacum at 15 C 4 small crickets/weeks is sufficient to ensure growth and supply enough nutrition for reproduction). As you have them colder than this, I wouldn't worry about a lack of appetite..

Hi Thank you.My english is not good-I'sorry

The one first aksolotl is very much sick.2 months ago very much white(anaemia).Gills also became whitened. After putting he/she ? into the refrigerator he/she became yellow. Of leather he grew Aeromonas hydrophila. Therefore cure with antibiotics I did Injections .I'm MD

How a long way can I have him in the refrigerator in the temperature of 8 *C

I very love my animals.I see if isn't good

My axi before sick

and now in the refrigerator

the temp seems a bit to low and is probably sending it into a hibinatory state.
the gills on the others look like they've had a fungal infection at some point, the yellowing looks to be either food induced or chemical. due to the reduction of gills on both sides looks like chemical, have you checked the tank for amonia/nitrates and has anything with iodine been added to the water?

No iodine.
No2-0
NO3-25 mg/l
GH 16*n
KH 10*n
PH-8
NH3-0
In tank is 50% sol Holtfletter's
I also thought about fungi infection
I have "Fungi stop" Tetra Medica
Active ingredients per 100 ml
Silver colloid O,240g
Melanil yellow 0,100 g(??)
Whether it is a safe cure for axis ?
Can I give this in the tank? or dip in small container?

Beata, one of our axies went very anaemic, like yours, but we put her in the fridge, did saltbath (our fridge temp was about 5 or 6degrees.) It took her 2 months to come right, get her colour and appetite back. We never added chemicals, just saltbaths. She went a very greyish/ghostly white colour, gills too and even greyer colour in the fridge. No idea what caused it and we had her in the fridge for about 3 weeks and then kept her separated in a small container for another 3 weeks before returning her to tank. Her tankmates weren't sick.

I have a short question, what is exactly wrong with the gills of the second Axie, can't see what is meant on the picture - Sorry maybe it's a stupid question but I'm wondering when the white Axies haves some black spots (like the second Axie here) on his head and gills is there something wrong with that ? or is it just like that?

Black spots are usually normal on white axolotls.

Axolotls do not hibernate. Other than really slowing the metabolism down to the point where changes may be slow to occur there isn't a problem with the low temperature.
Iodine is toxic to amphibians in other than micronutrient traces )see Amphibian Medicine and Captive Husbandry) so I would not consider the addition of iodine a wise choice unless there is some other factor showing it is needed.

Hi "Beata, one of our axies went very anaemic, like yours, but we put her in the fridge, did saltbath (our fridge temp was about 5 or 6degrees.)"
My aksolotl is in the refrigerator from 17 days
in temp 6-8 degr.
I doing 50% sol Holtfletter with
NaCl2( in salt no iodine) 2g/l
KCl 0.025g/l
,CaCl2 0,1g/l
,MgSo4 0,1g/l
,NaHCo30,1g/l-(I have a very precise scale)
In container are 2 liters of water.I change water
2x a day.
I did't see improvement.

Through the first week he had 100 % sol Holtfletter

How long my very anaemic axi can be still in the refrigerator ?
I read very much about axis in Caudata .org,Axolotl.org ... Newsletters N 28-(august 2000)Practical axolotl-Sandra Borland IU Axolotl Colony and..and.
I couldn"t find causes of this anaemia.(sorry oh Good my english

)

What is this Melanil yellow-in Fungistop-Tetra Medica ?\

"Iodine is toxic to amphibians in other than micronutrient traces )see Amphibian Medicine and Captive Husbandry)" I know, I read.

It is likely that there is a chemical problem-because I am giving to tap water Tetra Agua Safe for gooldfish-This is antychlor .antystressant- Is it harming?

"what is exactly wrong with the gills of the second Axie",Filaments of gills looks like burnt hair they are scowling and they are shortening, on the left. The end is as the brush Black spots is normal I know.My axi had beautifull gills. Now is poor gills condition.

We searched too on all sites and couldn't find any cause either, much to our distress.

We kept ours for 3 weeks in fridge.
But they can stay as long as 4 weeks in fridge.

When we took her out we kept her in small container doing 1 full water change each day, no salt baths.
Fed her daily till her colour returned
This took 3 weeks approx.

Then returned her to tank.
Hope he gets better.

Sorry, other than that that is all we know

I would have to disagree with this statement unless it was part of a treatment regimen prescribed by a vet.
