Hi, I have a question. I have 2 axolotls as classroom pets, and although I have told my students that gender is a social construct and not a binary, they would really like to know whether our pets are dudes or girls, and for the life of me I can't figure it out, though I'm leaning towards girls because of their body shape. Can anyone please confirm? Thanks! ~Naomi~

from above it looks like your pink axolotl is a possible male with the other being female, although a side view would make it easier to confirm.

Your leucistic is definitely a male. The other looks to possibly be male but looks too young to tell for sure. They don’t look so great…are they in an adequately sized tank?
