Hi! I just bought myself a golden albino axolotl. I’m really interested in genetics and I understand the basics of genetics, but I get SO confused when it comes to morphs and how this play into the genetics of prediction color possibilities. I asked the breeder about the genetics of my axolotls parents and this is what she told me:
Mom: Golden Albino
Dad: All Het Melanoid Mosaic
Het albino and melanoid
50% axanthic, 50% copper
What does that mean for the genetics of my baby (golden albino). What are the chances of him/her having mosaic, axanthic, or copper offspring? I probably won’t breed, but I find genetics fascinating, even if I can’t quite wrap my head around it.
Thank you in advance!!
