Good evening,
I was watching our axolotls this evening and noticed one of them has an enormous red and swollen cloaca....he/she is also chasing the other axolotl throughout the aquarium....
Should I be worried or is he/she just getting frisky, or maybe ready to lay eggs (I noticed a couple of days ago about 5 sperm "sacks" in the aquarium)....
I just hope it is not a prolaps.... :-(
In the attached video you can clearly see the red and swollen cloaca in the beginning and at the end.
You can see the video on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vAXutquCAQ
My boyfriend and I are new to these amazing and funny creatures, and we are really getting attached to Axel and Lotje (the names we gave them) and we would be devastated if something was serious wrong with them...
Thank you in advance for some (helpfull) answers!
Erna
