Hello! I just got 2 axolotl one white and pink one and one wildtype. Mate and Java. When I got them they were so small and now they are growing so fast! I just wanted to know a couple things, I'm feeding them blood worms and about 1/2 a cube a day and they are 1 1/2 months old. is that a good amount? how often should I clean their aquarium? I have it at about 22 degrees celsius is that ok? and java the wildtype frequently swims up and down and bump into the glass. I think they're fine though. thank you!:p:D:proud:

Hello and welcome.

You have two real cuties there.

Bloodworm are ok for now but try to get them onto earthworms as soon as you can, you can chop them into smaller pieces if needed to make it easier for your lotls to slurp them up.

As for cleaning, try to poop scoop whenever you see a poop and once a week give the tank a good 'hoover' with a siphon and do a 20-25% water change. Make sure you use dechlorinator in the water before you add it too the tank.

Have a good read of the Axolotl section and the care sheets - there is a link in my signature for you.

thank you! yeah I'm just worried there will be chemicals in the worms (I live in the city) where could i find good earthworms

You could find some earth worms or night crawlers at Walmart, though it's not entirely recommended. Other than that, look for some bait and tackle shops, they usually have some pretty trust-worthy baits that you can feed your axolotls.
