I rescued this guy a little while ago. He just seems to look a little different. His body shape, head shape, gills, etc. It could be all this recent talk I've been seeing about morphing or getting other salamander species rather than axolotls but I feel like I should check. 🤣
 
Looks like a nice healthy axolotl. Since you are in the UK, it would be less likely (compared to the USA) that you'd end up with a tiger salamander larva.

It's been happening an awful lot here recently if I'm honest. I'm suspecting he's a dwarf, I haven't yet had a dwarf so his shape does look a little funny. His head shape seemed off in particular to me but I do think it's just because of his bodily proportions. I thought I'd check with the salamander experts anyhow just to make sure! Thank you!
 
Take a picture from above. It can be an ambystoma velasci which is almost identical to an axolotl.
