Hello,

So last year I was gifted an axolotl. I already have a fish tank and was building a new tank for different fish when my sister in her infinite wisdom convinced my wife I’d want one. Now I didn’t even know anything about them and the more I looked up the more annoyed I got. My intention was to try build a low maintenance tank for tetras but when she sent the axolotl all the work I’d done up to that point had to go down the drain to care for it. So I’ve researched and reviewed how to take care of it and it’s thriving (I think it is anyway) pretty well. However he we are a little over a year out and I still feel the same way I did when it showed up. The little dude is cool as heck but it’s not something I wanted or want. Does anyone know where I can give the little dude to ensure it’s still cared for and allowed to live a full, healthy, and happy life. If I have to hold on to him I will because I refuse to send him somewhere he can’t be happy and healthy.

Is my newt okay if I poke it? I think I accidentally poked him too hard and I'm worried I hurt him. Help lol

Hello, I’m looking for fire bellied newts that will ship to Ontario, Canada. Are there any captive breeders here? I’ve had many in the past and I’m looking to get a pair for my 12 yr old. I will be the care taker!

Hello. I’m looking for some input. My axolotl is about 7 months old. I came home and her gills are completely white. I was reading that they do shed around this age. Could this be why her gills are white? The ph is 6.5-7. Nitrates are 80 Nitrites 0.5

My axolotl’s gills have turned completely white. she is about 7 months old. I fed her a couple of pellets to see if she would eat. One hit her head and she flipped out. Started darting all around the tank. Temp, ammonia, nitrates are all in range. Anyone know why this is happening? I pu
