Bought her 2 weeks ago and she is the office mascot....my boss is thrilled and delighted. It was her arrival that prompted me to educate myself on the breed. I have read and read and am continuing to read.
Now I'm a real Axolotl Geek I've decided I want my own. My tank is cycling in preparation for my two new arrivals, hopefully in the next 2 weeks.
Any how...here's Rosie.

I can't like this enough! Office mascot? How perfect! Many an office—and worker-wellbeing!—could be improved by the addition of an axolotl to the staff!

So long as she's cared for probably and gets get food and maintained water and all the attention she needs! (Her tank looks super, though, I must say, and I feel she'll be safe since you've been doing your reading!)

She's also a very pretty girl, what gorgeous gills!

She's lovely. You better just close the office now because soon it will be over run with axolotls. It's an addiction you know! ;)

Love it - brilliant addition to any office! :D

You can't help but smile when you see a face like that :D

They are very addictive critters & like Pringles once you pop you can't stop :)

Look forward to more pics of Rosie & of your new additions at home :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
