Axolotl Shedding

My axolotl seems mostly healthy and doesnt seem to be stressed however I've noticed they are shedding.
My water parameters are
nitrite <0.3mg/l
ammonia 0.0mg/l
ph 7.5
also unfortunately it has been very hot and although I have tried my best to find ways to cool down the tank it has been averaging 23.5°C (so any suggestion for that would be helpful too)
What should I do about the shedding, are they Ill? any help would be appreciated thank you

The shedding is a very serious problem and is likely caused by a combination of high nitrites, high temperature, and possibly high nitrates. What are your nitrate levels by the way? Nitrites are very toxic to axolotls, which is one of the reasons why aquariums should always be fully cycled before adding an axolotl if possible. To fix the nitrite levels, start doing 50% water changes every 12 hours until your tank is fully cycled.

To keep the tank cool, you can use fans, frozen water bottles, a chiller, or use air conditioning to lower the ambient temperature of the room. Ideally, use a combination of all of the above, but use the ice bottles as a last resort since sudden temperatures are also not good. If all else fails, you may need to fridge your axolotl in order to keep the temperature down. There are guides on this website how to do so.

Based on the skin condition, I would also recommend using black tea baths, which can help to soothe the skin. Again, there are guides on this website.
