I have 2 axolotls about 4-5" housed together. Today I found one of them moving without the use of both its front legs. One side seem to have been bitten, but the other side looks fine. It moves around by moving its tail but instead of landing on its front legs it now lands on its belly.

All other signs look fine! Gills and tail looks normal. Should I be concerned? :(

Perhaps the second axolotl bit the injured one. I'd be tempted to remove the injured one and put it in a separate tank or large tub with clean fresh water until it's healed.

Have you got any photos of the axie?

Here is the photo. Thanks for your quick reply snuggly time! It's slightly better today. Today only the left front leg is neglected. I hope it's just injury from the attack.

I have separated them by the way, not wanting to take any chances. :D

Cute axie

Just keep the water clean and fresh with plenty of food and he should hopefully recover soon.
