Question: Axolotl tankmate?

Hi,


Do you know any animal that can be kept with an axolotl, that will eat the waste frozen bloodworms, algae etc.? It should not be dangerous to the axolotl and vice versa. I was thinking about some shrimps or snails, but I'm worried, that they will get eaten. Thanks for any suggestions

I usually have snails (ramshorn) in the tank. They will help keep algae in check

Won't they get eaten by the axolotl? I'm a little bit concerned about their shell, that it will get stuck in the axolotl's gut and cause impaction
