Axolotls in Brisbane??

Hi all

We've recently acquired the apple of our eye - a little albino guy - Egon. We'd love to get him a melanoid buddy from a breeder (we'd rather use a breeder than a pet-shop). Does anyone here breed in Brisbane, or know someone who does?

Thanks!
Leah & Arryn

I have no idea but I can't believe you called him Egon! I'm about to list a copy of that tv show cartoon based on Ghostbusters on Ebay - it's sitting right on my desk as I type.

Too weird.

And i love that photo of Egon - nice capture.

Nice coincidence, but we named our guy after Egon Schiele the artist. Our Egon can bust ghosts just fine too.

We would also appreciate info about getting salmon pellets in Australia - do any pet shops sell them?

Thanks!

Leah and Arryn, you're axie is smiling in your profile pic! It's sooo cute! Egon fits so perfectly!

Egon Schiele the artist, and Egon from the Ghostbusters, the original! Not that crappy cartoon remake Extreme Ghostbusters.

If Egon is the axolotl pictured in your profile, he's Leucistic, not albino. But he's very beautiful.

i see were your coming from with the hair and the gills, great name picking

You guys are all crazy! Thanks for the great photoshopping.

We think we might have found a breeder, thanks to the forum archives, but if anyone has any other ideas it would be good to have a backup plan too! We'll let you know how it goes.

I'm off now to look up 'Leucistic' so I look like I know what I'm talking about next time... oops.

And Anne-Marie - that pic you used to have for your profile with the hat and cane was brilliant! Well done!

Thanks guys
Leah

hi

i have just found eggs in our tank and wondered .... how do i get them out? .... how urgent is it to remove them .... and what do i put them in?

thanx .... kazz

Hi Kaz

I don't know anything about eggs, but you should definitely post this question in a new thread, or check the 'eggs larvae and breeding' section to see what has already been discussed - there should be loads of stuff for you to learn there.

And Rheann's pic is great - very funny! No bad crazies here....

Thanks!
Leah & Arryn

"You guys are all crazy!" That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me

.

The top hat and cane was Rheann's handiwork - I just provided the model. Have you checked out www.axolotl.org the parent site to this forum - Look at the breeding and genetic pages for leucistic.

Kazz, you can take the eggs out anytime before they hatch, but I tend to do this asap. Put them into clean water with an airstone to move them around as they develop. Again check out the axolotl site above for heaps of info.
