Has anyone kept their axolotls in an outdoor pond? someone asked me if its possible.

in theory I would say it is but would be more concerned a cat or bird could eat it.

I know people who keep axolotls in outdoor ponds and tanks. By they are mostly breeders, or keep many, because there is a risk of a predator.

Short answer: yes, you can. All the normal water-quality issues apply, plus, being in a more exposed environment, there is a greater risk of parasites being introduced via sources ranging from runoff to local amphibians and even bird feces in some areas. So, that is something you will want to keep as eye on.

Big consideration is to make sure it is deep enough to avoid it becoming a predator smorgasbord.

Like any outdoor live stock pond, expect a certain number of losses, and for your animals to be invisible to you most of the time.

I keep my axolotls in an outdoor pond, if you want to know more about it just send me a PM I'm happy to discuss it further :)
