I'm trying to get ahold of people who may be selling Axolotls in Sacramento California. I really want a male, either black or leucistic with black eyes, for now, Only a male. I have my tank set up, will change to a larger size later. Right now I have a 10 just for a juvenile. email me at ruga_lapis_valcre@yahoo.com
If i can't find someone near close, then I hope that Michael Shrom can help me out. Thanks everyone!

I have tried Wards, and Nile Biological. Neither of these companies are selling Axolotls at this time.

I believe sales and possession of axolotls is illegal here in CA. It will be very hard to find. I haven’t personally seen any in stores.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
