My sister had two axolotls, a Wild Type and a Golden Albino. Recently, her Golden Albino died due to some sort of fungus or bacteria? It looked like its cream coloring was disappearing. Now, her Wild Type has the same problem. If anyone has any suggestion, that would be great. Stick (the Golden Albino) died within a few days of it appearing, so both my sister and I are really nervous for Matt, the Wild Type. The picture is one she sent of Stick.

What ever it is I'm going to bet it's bacterial. I would move it into a small container with daily water changes. Someone else may want to elaborate but I'm going to bet it's in the tank and when the one passed the bacteria was looking for a new host.

I would move the remaining axolotl to the fridge as a means to slow down the progression of infection. Do daily water changes with temperature matched, dechlorinated water.

I haven't seen an infection like this posted to these forums, personally. The closest may be this case: http://www.caudata.org/forum/f46-be.../93914-red-veins-please-help-me-how-cure.html
However, it does resemble infections that are often from diseased fish. Do you keep fish with your axolotl or feed fish to your axolotls? I would also try to get more pictures of the remaining axolotl.

The best outcome for your animal would be to take him to an exotics vet soon. I can assure you that it is a serious infection.

Matt died. Sorry about not having gotten back sooner, but my sister doesn't live at home. Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions.
