Hello! For a few weeks now, my axolotls (white one) mouth has just been pretty much open. It hasn’t closed and I’ve been pretty worried about it as I can’t find anything about it online.
she’s eating perfectly fine and she shows no signs of stress as of right now so I don’t think she’s under much or any stress at all. All the water parameters are looking good and upon checking her mouth and throat I’ve seen nothing out of the ordinary.
she’s eating well and goffs down any worms she’s given. Her sister (black one) is doing perfectly fine and also does not show any signs of stress or anything wrong with her.
I’m thinking she maybe swallowed a bit of the sand? (Pieces are a bit big but they’ve been in them for a while and it never hurt them). But I’m not sure if swallowing sand would do that to her.
I’m redoing the whole tank (includes new, finer grain sand) in a few weeks once I get all the supplies, so if it is the sand they won’t be in it much longer.
If anyone has any answers or tips please let me know!
